Consider the flower.
There are over 300,000 different species. They come in all sorts of shapes, colors, and sizes. None are exactly the same, but they can be similar in nature. Their hues covering all spectrums of the rainbow and everything in between, they can be found on stems sprouting from the ground, bushes spreading across the lawn, trees branching outward from their trunks, or vines twisting around their trellises. They can be placed sporadically on grassy plains, clustered together in small bunches, or spread along large, expansive fields.
Looking closer, each species is unique in every way. When looking at one particular flower, one notices that not a single petal is the same. Shorter or taller, thinner or thicker, more saturated or faded, each one has a certain characteristic setting it apart from its neighbors. Stamens and pistils decorate the center in different shapes, sizes, lengths, quantities, and colors. None are similar and all are unique. Like the petals, each single one is different. Yet there is more to the flower than the soft, colored exterior blossoming and providing visual delight.
For the leaves are just as varied in every way. And while some are edible, others are poisonous. All use sunlight to make food. The stems, vines, bushes, and trees all follow the same patterns of uniqueness.
Yet for all these complexities and differences, these plants of wonder and beauty come from a single seed no larger than the palm of your hand. A miracle of God.
